Starting Orthodontic treatment

Common Problems with Orthodontia.

Orthodontia is an important aspect in modern dentistry. Fixed orthodontic treatments have become incredibly popular amongst other dental techniques since a few decades. Though fixed orthodontic appliances are inserted, they create stagnation areas for plaque and make tooth cleaning more difficult.

Irregularities on the surfaces of wires, brackets, bands and other fixed orthodontic appliance may impact oral hygiene of orthodontic patients. As a result, it may predispose the enamel surfaces – the area between the gingival margin and the bracket. This will lead to increased accumulation of bacterial plaque causing both hard and soft tissue related problems.
